Don’t forget to book your place on the inspirational Odds Farm Play Day – 2 May 2018.
Odds Farm have been on a real journey when it comes to play. Established in 1993, they always knew that play provision would be a key part of their offering.
As their visitor numbers grew they began to invest more in play. The first feature they installed with Timberplay was a toddler play area, with wooden tractor and trailer, play huts and swinging horses, ideal for the younger visitor and for the farm theme.
However, after seeing Beth Cooper speak at an industry event they became more switched on to the value of more risky, challenging and immersive play. So in 2014 they introduced a sand and water play area, featuring water pumps and channels. Not one to rest on their laurels they began work the following year on a thrilling Adventure Play Area, lots of high energy equipment, including rope bridges, large Stainless Steel tunnel slides, hexagonal swings and jumping discs. This combination of play areas has succeeded in significantly boosting visitor numbers, increasing visitor dwell time and satisfaction levels.
But Odds Farm weren’t finished there. In 2017 they worked with Timberplay to create a bespoke Play Fort – a great standalone play piece situated at the other end of the site. This can accommodate many children at any one time and Odds Farm are also using the structure as a staging solution for their entertainers play during school holidays.
And finally – their newest play installation is an incredible water play installation, designed to keep children engaged, working together to move the water through a series of pumps, channels, rivulets, wheels and gates before it exits the system. This amazing play facility will need to be seen to be believed, and as it is only scheduled to open at Easter you will be one of the first groups to witness this ambitious configuration in action.
