Harmony Outdoor Area at Dumfries House Now Launched

Our latest play space is now open at Dumfries House in Ayrshire. The Harmony Outdoor Area is a multi-sensory experience that allows children to experiment with the elements – earth, air, fire and water, whilst learning how to manage the inherent risks in outdoor sensory play. The space is a free play area for local children and visitors, and forms the outdoor learning space for the STEM education programme at the new Morphy Richards Engineering Building.

It was officially opened by Prince Charles at an event at Dumfries House, who is a long time supporter of the Estate. Judging by the smiles and laughter from the local children who joined us at the event, they were delighted by the opportunity to have fun and get messy with sand, mud and water.

Providing an area for experimental play offers visitors an extra dimension of engagement, and we are delighted that Dumfries House is creating more and more opportunities for play.
